Your data stays with you
Last updated 29 October 2026
The short version: you can use all of Codeloft Academy without an account. If you choose to sign in with Google, we save your progress so it follows you between devices. We don't show ads and we don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
What is saved, and where
Without an account, your progress (completed lessons, XP, streak and badges), your code drafts and your settings are saved in your own browser using local storage. They stay on your device. Clearing your browser's site data deletes them, and they don't sync to other devices.
Signing in with Google (optional)
If you tap Sign in, Google tells us your name, email address and profile photo. We never see your Google password. We use Supabase to run sign-in and to store your account, and the data is held in Ireland (European Union).
- What we store: your name, email and photo from Google, and your progress (completed lessons, XP, streak and badges), linked to your account.
- What we use it for: to keep your progress in sync across your devices and to show your name on your certificate. We don't sell it or share it for advertising.
- On your device: your sign-in is remembered with a token in your browser's local storage, so you stay signed in. It isn't used for tracking.
- Your choices: Sign out removes your progress from this device and keeps it in your account. Delete my account, on the Your progress page, permanently deletes your account and all saved progress.
Your code
